Open to all Code Enforcement, Municipal Police Officers, Police Chiefs, Animal Control Officers, Township Supervisors, Mayors, Solicitors, and any Township or Borough Official

BASIC HUMANE SOCIETY POLICE OFFICER

Location: To be determined.  Will be in the Hershey/Harrisburg area.

​

**Both Parts must be successfully completed to be eligible to be sworn in to work as an HSPO in Pennsylvania. 

 

BECOMING A HUMANE SOCIETY POLICE OFFICER IN PENNSYLVANIA IS NOT JUST A JOB, BUT A CAREER WITH ANIMALS.  THIS COURSE IS THE MANDATED BASIC TRAINING FOR ALL ASPIRING HSPO’S IN PENNSYLVANIA.  ALL GRADUATES MUST BE EMPLOYED BY OR VOLUNTEER FOR A NON-PROFIT ANIMAL PROTECTION ORGANIZATION AS DEFINED IN TITLE 22 CHAPTER 37 PRIOR TO BEING AWARDED OFFICIAL CREDENTIALS AND WORKING AS AN HSPO.  (STUDENTS DO NOT NEED TO BE EMPLOYED BY OR VOLUNTEER FOR A NON-PROFIT AT THE TIME OF COURSE ATTENDANCE). THIS COURSE IS OPEN TO ALL.
